Breakfast doesn’t have to be boring! Especially with this Honey Sriracha Toasted Bagel! Bagels spread with honey and sriracha are toasted and smeared with a homemade scallion cream cheese and sprinkled with everything bagel spice. Sweet, spicy and ridiculously delicious! Serves 1.
In today’s episode of TikTok made me make it…Honey sriracha bagels!
I don’t eat bagels as often as I would like to, but when I first heard of spreading a bagel with honey and sriracha and then toasting? I new I had to try it as soon as humanly possible. The result was sweet and spicy (as you would expect) but I also spread it with a simple homemade scallion chive cream cheese which was incredible! Not only was there the spicy honey thing going on, but the mild onion flavor with the subtlety of garlic works so well together.
It was love at first bite.
To Make This Honey Sriracha Bagel with Scallion Chive Cream Cheese You will Need:
for the cream cheese:
- whipped cream cheese
- scallions or green onions
- fresh chives
- freshly ground black pepper
for the bagel:
- bagel of choice
- everything bagel seasoning (optional)
- micro greens (optional)
In a mixing bowl, add 12 ounces whipped cream cheese, 4 scallions or green onions, sliced (about 1/4 cup), 2 tablespoons snipped fresh chive, 1 clove fresh garlic (grated) and season with freshly ground black pepper to taste.
For what it’s worth, I have attempted to make my own cream cheese before and it was such a process that I find it easier to use store-bought – guilt free🤩.
Use a spatula to mix well until combined. Cover and refrigerate until ready to use.
Slice your bagel in half, if not already.
Place them cut side facing up and drizzle with honey…
Use a knife to spread both to cover the bagel.
Because I don’t have a toaster oven to toast my bagel while laying flat, I used my air fryer!
HOW TO TOAST A BAGEL IN THE AIR FRYER:
- preheat of your air fryer to 360°.
- Slice the bagels in half (and in this case, spread with sriracha and honey) and pop the two halves into your preheated air fryer.
- Air fry for 2 to 4 minutes or until desired toasty-ness. Smaller homemade bagels vs bakery bagels will toast for different amounts of time.
Once preheated, place the bagel cut side facing up on your air fryer basket or insert.
Toaste 2 to 4 minutes or longer if needed.
Spread with as much or as little of the scallion chive cream cheese as you wish.
Sprinkling with everything bagel seasoning is optional but encouraged!
And so are the micro-greens.

FOR THE CREAM CHEESE:

what a fun bagel spread, why is mine so boring? They usually start and end with whipped cream cheese, so I like where yours starts and really like the honey-sriracha pairing garlic and onions too, thank you!
