Golden Hour Mango Smoothie

Craving something tropical? I’ve got you.

Currently my fruit bowl contains mangos, dragonfruit, bananas and pineapple. I’m obsessed. Spring has sprung here in Michigan, but it’s hardly warm outside. And after spending an entire week vacationing on St. Pete Beach, I want to surround myself with everything sunny and tropical.

One of the first things I made after arriving home was this mango smoothie. I call “golden hour” because I’m a total dork and also because it’s packed with healthy fruits, protein and a dash of turmeric giving it that 6pm, sun-is-setting, golden glow color.

Tips For Making Smoothies:
  • freeze fresh fruit on a parchment lined, rimmed sheet pan over night and store in a freezer safe container.
  • frozen fruit is best for a creamy and icy smoothie.
  • avoid using ice cubes as it causes separation in the smoothie once the ice melts.
  • plain non fat Greek yogurt is great in smoothies as it lends to the creaminess without adding fat and a ton of calories.
