In-N-Out Pull Apart Sliders

I’ve got a delicious recipe for you!

Inspired by In-N-Out, these sliders are so flavorful and simple. Brioche slider buns topped with American cheese, a flavorful ground beef mixture and homemade In-N-Out spread. Baked until melty and the buns, slightly toasted – with French fries, hot peppers and extra spread on the side. You can also add lettuce, onion and tomato after they come out of the oven, but either way you serve them, they are incredible.

To Make These In-N-Out Sliders You Will Need:

  • In-N-Out spreadI shared the recipe for my homemade spread here.
  • unsalted butter Lends flavor and fat for sautéing.
  • yellow onionLends subtle sweetness and caramelized onion flavor.
  • kosher saltHelps to soften the onions when caramelizing.
  • ground beefUse any ground beef you prefer.
  • au jus gravy mixUse homemade or store-bought.
  • brioche slider bunsOr substitute regular slider buns or Hawaiian slider rolls.
  • american cheeseLends smooth and gets ultra creamy once melted.

Make The In-N-Out Spread:

I shared this recipe a year or so ago. It consists of mayo, ketchup, mustard, dill pickle relish and vinegar. It’s pretty similar to Big Mac sauce and it’s deliciously addictive. I put the recipe below the slider recipe at the end of this post.

Make The Beef Filling:

In a 10 or 12-inch skillet, add 2 tablespoons unsalted butter and 1 large finely diced yellow onion with a pinch of kosher salt.

Cook over medium to medium-low heat, stirring often until the onions are tender and caramelized.

Next, add in 1 pound of ground beef.

Use a spatula to break up the meat into small crumbles, tossing with the caramelized onions and cook thoroughly.

add in au jus

Once cooked, drain and discard any fat in the pan. Next, measure and add 1½ tablespoons of au jus gravy mix.

Stir until combined and remove off of the heat.

Preheat your oven to 375°F (or 190°C).

Build The Sliders:

Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper. Using a serrated bread knife, slice the slider buns in half horizontally, placing the bottom half of the sliders onto the prepared pan.

Top with 6 to 8 slices of American cheese and top with the beef and onion mixture.

Spread the beef and onion mixture evenly.

top with a little In-N-Out spread

Drizzle with 1/3 cup of the In-N-Out spread.

top with more cheese

Top with 4 to 6 more slices of American cheese, tearing them to fit if necessary.

replace the top half of the slider buns

Replace the top half of the sliders and bake in your preheated oven for 8 minutes or until the cheese has melted and the sliders are heated through.

That’s literally it! Although you could remove the top halves and top with thinly sliced tomato and crisp iceberg lettuce.

Serve with french fries or potato wedges, tots or a simple salad.

In-N-Out Pull Apart Sliders

These In-N-Out Pull Apart Sliders are easy and delicious! Ingredients

  • 1 recipe In-N-Out spread
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 large yellow onion, finely diced
  • 1 pinch kosher salt
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • tablespoons au jus gravy mix, homemade or store-bought
  • 12 brioche slider buns, or Hawaiian or regular slider buns
  • 12 slices american cheese, more or less to preference

OPTIONAL SERVING SUGGESTIONS:

  • crisp iceberg lettuce leaves
  • thinly sliced tomato
  • spicy peppers
  • french fries or potato wedges

Instructions 

  • Make the In-N-Out spread and refrigerate until ready to use. (recipe is located below this one)

MAKE THE BEEF FILLING:

  • In a 10 or 12-inch skillet, add unsalted butter and the diced yellow onion with a pinch of kosher salt. Cook over medium to medium-low heat, stirring often until the onions are tender and caramelized, about 15 to 20 mintues.
  • Meanwhile preheat your oven to 375°F (or 190°C).
  • To the caramelized onions, add in the ground beef. Use a spatula to break up the meat into small crumbles, tossing with the caramelized onions and fully cooked. Drain and discard any fat from the pan. Measure and add au jus gravy mix. Stir until combined and remove off of the heat.

BUILD THE SLIDERS:

  • Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper. Using a serrated bread knife, slice the slider buns in half horizontally, placing the bottom half of the sliders onto the prepared pan. Top with 6 to 8 slices of American cheese and top with the beef and onion mixture and spread it in an even layer. Drizzle with 1/3 cup of the In-N-Out spread, top with 4 to 6 more slices of American cheese, tearing them to fit if necessary.
  • Replace the top half of the sliders and bake in your preheated oven for 8 minutes or until the cheese has melted and the sliders are heated through. Serve with French fries or any side of your choice, spicy peppers and extra sauce on the side.
