Looking for a simple appetizer that will impress?
Well then, this honey baked brie is it! Truth be told, I don’t need company to eat this. However, it’s a great one to share over glasses of wine and good conversation. The sweetness of the jam compliments the earthy brie and togethers on a garlic crostini
Basically my dream appetizer.
To Make This Honey Baked Brie You Will Need:
- baguette
- olive oil or olive oil spray
- garlic clove
- double cream Brie cheese
- honey
- fig jam
- toasted walnuts
- rosemary
First things first, make your crostini. To do this, preheat your oven to 400°. Brush or spray the baking pan with olive oil or avocado oil. Slice the baguette and place on the pan, spray the exposed side of the bread before sliding the pan onto the middle rack of your preheated oven. Bake for 8 minutes, rotating the pan halfway through.
Once lightly golden, gently rub a peeled clove of garlic onto one side of the crostini.
Next, reduce the oven temperature to 350°. Place the brie on a parchment paper lined (to keep from sticking), small baking dish or pan. Use a knife to lightly score the top of the cheese.
Drizzle with honey. Eyeball it.
And bake on the middle rack for 15 minutes.
Top with spoonfuls of fig jam.
Then transfer to your serving dish or board and top with toasted walnuts, the honey from the pan and a sprinkle of minced fresh rosemary.
Arrange the crostini around the honey baked brie.
Now comes the best part.
Cut into the brie with a small knife and spread the cheese, jam, nuts and rosemary on your crostini.
Sublime.
I’m all about simple and quick appetizers and this one is just that.
Happy spreading!
