Air Fryer Pumpkin Spice Bagels

Air Fryer Pumpkin Spice Bagels are flavorful without all the calories. The dough is made with Greek yogurt, pumpkin puree and flavored with vanilla and homemade pumpkin spice. Before being air fried, the bagels are sprinkled with a pumpkin spice sugar which gives the tops a sweet and crackly texture! A delicious, slightly healthier breakfast option.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unbleached all-purpose flour plus 1 tablespoon
  • teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon [pumpkin spice]
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 2/3 cup plain nonfat greek yogurt
  • 1/3 cup pumpkin puree
  • 2 tablespoons dark brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon real vanilla extract
  • egg wash 1 egg + 1 teaspoon water
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon pumpkin spice
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  • In a medium mixing bowl, measure and add flour, baking powder, pumpkin spice and salt. Whisk to combine and set off to the side.
  • Then in a separate bowl, measure and add yogurt, pumpkin puree, brown sugar and vanilla. Stir to combine before pouring into the bowl with the dry ingredients.
  • Stir well to combine.
  • Divide dough into 4 equal portions and coat in some of the flour. Shape and roll into a 9 to 10-inch rope, connect the ends and pinch to secure.
  • In a small bowl combine 1 tablespoon granulated sugar, 1/4 teaspoon pumpkin spice and 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon.
  • Brush the bagels with egg wash and sprinkle with pumpkin spice sugar.
  • Spray the basket of your air fryer and preheat to 300℉ (or 150℃). Once preheated, work in batches, air-frying the bagels for 12 minutes. Times may vary depending on your air fryer model.
  • Slice, toast and enjoy!

Notes

HOW TO TOAST BAGELS IN THE AIR FRYER:

After slicing the bagel in half horizontally, lightly spray the cut side with olive oil spray. Preheat your air fryer to 360° and toast for 2 to 4 minutes. Swipe with some cream cheese (if desired) and sit back and enjoy!
