Homemade Chicken Taco Seasoning

Ditch the pre-made packets and make this super simple Homemade Chicken Taco Seasoning at home! Simply combine common pantry herbs and spices with chicken bouillon granules and add to cooked ground chicken or turkey or use to marinate raw poultry.
This recipe yields about 6 tablespoons or equivalent to 3 store bought (2 tablespoon) envelopes.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons ancho chili powder or regular chili powder
  • 2 tablespoons chicken bouillon granules
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon mexican oregano or regular oregano
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Instructions

  • In a container that has a tight-fitting lid, measure and add ancho chili powder (or use regular), chicken bouillon granules, cumin, black pepper, paprika, oregano (ground in the palm of your hand), garlic powder, onion powder, coriander and cayenne pepper.
  • Mix thoroughly until combined.
  • Secure the lid tightly and store in a dry, dark place for up to 6 months or longer.
