Affogato is a classic Italian dessert consisting of gelato and espresso. Top with anything your heart desires like; crushed biscotti, shaved chocolate or toasted nuts.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup vanilla bean gelato
  • 2 ounces brewed espresso or more if desired
  • crushed biscotti
  • shaved semi-sweet chocolate

Instructions

  • Divide 2 scoops of vanilla bean gelato among 2 small cups or mugs.
  • Pour 1 ounce espresso over the gelato and top with crushed biscotti and shaved chocolate.

Notes

For a small serving of gelato, split 1 (2 ounce) shot among two cups. For a larger serving, use 1 shot per serving.
