Roasted Cabbage Steaks make for an excellent side dish to steak, chicken or your St. Patrick's Day corned beef. Cabbage is sliced, seasoned and roasted until caramelized. Serves 4 to 6 in under 30 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 1 medium green cabbage
  • olive oil or olive oil spray
  • 2 pinches kosher salt
  • black pepper freshly ground

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 400℉ (or 200℃).
  • Remove any tough outer leaves from the cabbage before slicing into 1/2-inch thick cabbage steaks.
  • Brush or spray a rimmed, metal baking sheet with olive oil.
  • Arrange the cabbage steaks and brush or spray the exposed side of the cabbage and season with salt, pepper and any other spices desired.
  • Roast on the middle rack of your preheated oven for 20 to 25 (more or less depending on the sized and thickness of your cabbage).
