This Fresh Berry Compote is incredible served with pound cake topped with real whipped cream is a simple and light dessert! Fresh fruit, sugar and lemon juice simmer until becoming a thick delicious sauce. Yields 1½ cups compote.

FOR THE BERRY COMPOTE:
1/2pound=strawberriesstems removed and halved
Combine all ingredients into a medium sized saucepan and heat over medium heat, until the juices are released they start to boil.
Cook for 5-8 minutes and remove from the heat and set aside.
