Equipment

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon caramel brûlée sauce plus more for serving.
  • 2 shots strongly brewed espresso about 6 ounces or 170.1 grams
  • 2/3 cup half & half whole milk, or other milk that steams and froths well.
  • whipped cream for serving
  • 1 hard caramel candy (like Werther's Original) crushed

Instructions

  • Add a generous tablespoon of caramel brûlée sauce in the bottom of a mug.
  • Brew 2 strong shots of espresso or about 6 ounces into the mug. Strong coffee can also be used. Stir to combine.
  • Meanwhile pour half & half, whole milk or other milk that steams and froths well into a steamer/frother.
My Keurig (linked above) does both, heating and frothing. Alternatively you can use a frothing whisk to warm milk, whipping it until foamy.
  • Pour in the warm frothed milk.
  • Top with whipped cream, extra caramel brûlée sauce and crushed hard caramel candies. I like to use Werther’s Original Candies. (Simply add to a resealable bag and use the flat side of a meat tenderizer to crush.)
  • Serve immediately!

Notes

WHAT IS THE BEST MILKS FOR FROTHING?
The best milk for frothing is heavy cream, half & half, whole milk, oat milk (try barista blend!), almond milk, coconut milk and soy milk.
WHAT IS HALF & HALF?
Half & half is commonly found in the dairy section of most American grocery stores. It is equal parts whole milk and heavy cream.
