Ingredients

  • 1 cup whole coffee beans
  • 5 cups water

OPTIONAL ADD-INS:

Instructions

  • Add coffee beans to grinder and pulse until coarsely ground.
  • Fill a large bowl or liquid measuring cup with 5 cups of cool water and add the coffee grounds.
  • Stir, cover and refriegerate (or leave on your counter) for 12 to 24 hours. (I do 24 hours)
  • Fit a separte bowl or liquid measuring cup with the nut milk bag (several layers of cheesecloth lining a mesh sieve) and pour the coffee through.
  • Squeeze the bag to get out as much coffee as possible before transferring the (strained) cold brew to a large carafe or jar(s). *
  • Keep refrigerated for up to 2 weeks.

Notes

After straining, if while pouring it into the storage jar, you notice any coffee ground that made their way to through the nut milk bag (hey, it happens) I’ll let those sink to the bottom and slowly pour the cold brew into the pitcher, leaving them behind.
