This Pineapple Mango Smoothie has pineapple, mango and a touch of honey. Full of vitamin C and if you close your eyes you can pretend you’re at the beach!
Let’s start this Monday off right with candy. Lifesavers to be exact.
My all-time favorite lifesaver flavor is pineapple. You can keep the cherry, orange and definitely the watermelon ones (why that flavor is included in the mix, I’ll never know) but I’ll take all your pineapple! Lifesavers reminds me of when my sister Julie and I would return my dad’s pop bottles to by candy at the Wesley Drugs, a corner store that made a killing every time us girls were up there. I’d walk out with an ice cream sandwich, a Butterfinger candy bar, Sour Patch Kids, Bubble Tape, a New York Seltzer and a roll of Lifesavers, just to name a few. It’s a wonder how I have any teeth left?! Well those pineapple lifesavers are today’s inspiration for a smoothie.
I’m always trying to come up with fruit and flavor combos to put into my blender. It doesn’t matter where I am… work, home, in bed… I’ll jot down a smoothie recipe. I’m at the grocery store, smoothie recipe. Waiting at my daughters bus stop, thinking smoothie! Like this very one.
It was warm here in Michigan but right now it’s snowing, yup snow in April. So why not take a little trip to somewhere tropical in the form of a smoothie? And for all you that are enjoying a sunny 75 degree day… I’m super jealous!
Smoothie ingredients!
You know the drill… in goes the ice.
Chobani is my newest and most favorite yogurt. But you can use your favorite vanilla yogurt, k?
Add it on top of the cup of ice.
I think bananas tend to overpower everything… so I’m using only a half a banana today; just save the other half for garnishing!
Cut it into chunks and add it to the yogurt and ice.
Next go ahead and toss in the pineapple.
Cut up a mango; but if you need a refresher on how to cut up one of these babies then look here.
Toss in a whole cut up mango.
Sweeten with honey, my favorite of all sweeteners!
Add a touch more vanilla, a dash of vanilla extract to be exact.
A splash of milk.
Puree until there is no chunks of ice, pineapple or mango left. Pour. And sit back, relax, and pretend you’re sunning on the beach of an island somewhere remote.
Now pretend there is rum in this smoothie. 🙂
Garnish with a little banana and pineapple, or a fancy umbrella thingy.
Enjoy! And if you give this Pineapple Mango Smoothie recipe a try, let me know! Snap a photo and tag me on twitter or instagram!

THANK YOU in advance for your support!
I'm so in! I bought extra bananas at the store this week just so I could make smoothies!!
Oohh…no pretending on my end, there WILL be rum. Thanks for including the how-to for the mango too 🙂
This smoothie is perfect for my tropical weather (it just started snowing 30 minutes ago). I love Chobani yogurt too! It is so filling and really little calories 🙂
Ohhh this sounds so good! I love all the fruit in your Smoothie! Great photos too! Thanks for sharing, and this one going on my list as well:)))
We are smoothie-a-holics around this house. Love this tropical one.
So funny, life savers remind me of Christmas of all things. We got a huge box in our stockings every single year (can you say filler gift? 😉 I hated the coconut ones ick.
I miss everything about Michigan (Ann Arbor) including the snow- although Indiana's winter did ok this year.
BTW – I love a good smootie recipe – I can never make them thick enough without a recipe. Much appreciated.
Perfect for today's 90+ degree day here in Houston, TX. This sounds so delicious. Life Savers remind me of my mom. She would keep them in her pocket at work and at the end of the night she'd offer us kids each one but they'd always have lint on them. Haha! Now she carries them in a ziploc and in her purse and are now ready to eat.
YUM! That looks so good! Looks like a pina colada thats socially acceptable to drink in the mornings 🙂
Yummy! This looks so delicious and refreshing. I love smoothies 🙂
