G & T’s are one of my favorite cocktails to make and this time of year. Crisp, refreshing and simple.

I remember my mom drinking these growing up in a crystal glass with a gold sparkly swizzle stick. I don’t recall when I had my first gin and tonic, but anything with a squeeze of lime and some fizz is right up my alley. This year, I decided to add something special to the glass by sugaring sprigs of rosemary. The end result resembles frosting pine branches and is just the kind of special touch the holidays deserve.

TO Make A Classic Gin and Tonic You Will Need:

  • ice
  • gin
  • tonic water
  • lime wedges

If making a classic gin and tonic, there’s no other gin for me other than Tanqueray. I do have other gins for different gin cocktails, but tanqueray is by far the best gin for the job.

Plus that bottle.

Start by filling highball glasses full of ice.

Depending on the size of glass, your taste preference and/or the gin you will need around 1 to 2 ounces of gin.

Squeeze a lime over top and fill the glass the rest of the way up with tonic water.

TBH I usually add 2 to 3 limes to mine.

To Make the Sugared Rosemary You Will Need:

  • fresh rosemary sprigs
  • water
  • paper towel
  • super fine sugar

Dampen a few sheets of paper towel with water. Place the sprigs on top and wrap up. Gently squeeze to wet the rosemary.

Press and roll the rosemary in the fine sugar.

The sugar will stick to the leaves giving it a frosted look. It’s really that easy!

Drop in a few sugared springs, sip and repeat.
