Game Day Grub

I’m pretty sure this weekend is the Super Bowl {am I supposed to capitalize the Super Bowl??}… Too bad for me that I have to work and miss the big game, commercials and half time show, can you HEAR the sarcasm? Since for all of you who will be off that day and maybe needing a little inspiration for some game day grub. I thought that I’d put together a little collection of recipes that I’d make if I was home and if I at all cared about the Super Bowl.

First and foremost I’d make me some Spicy Citrus Wings with a bowl of Cilantro Scallion Dip. They’re baked , not deep fried and taste absolutely phe-nom-enal!

For the kids {yeaaaah the kiiiiids} I’d make these Lunch Lady Sloppy Joes… what kid {or grown up for that matter} would turn down sloppy joe chili on top of a mozzarella cheese stick in a soft bun {I almost wrote but… doh!}?

For the big kids I’d definitely make a giant pot of the easiest chili in the whole entire world… because it’s easy, it’s good and it’s easy. Did I mention it’s easy? I’d happily top it with sour cream, onions and bacon… oh and cheddar!

To ensure folks got their veggies I’d make this guac that I promise you is totally Better than Restaurant Guacamole.

Now every party needs sweets. So I’d definitely make these Chocolate Cayenne Truffle Brownies. Guys love them, girls adore them and your mouth will thank you. To.DIE.For.

Ohhhh and I’d have these little bowls all over the place… I love these nuts with all my heart!

And for all my girl friends; we’d be sitting around the table, not watching the game… drinking wine and stuffing our faces with these Dark Chocolate Merlot Cookies. And maybe… just maybe we’d share with the guys. Doubtful tho.

What are your plans for this football game? It is football right? JUST kidding! :)

I have to work on Sunday as well. No party this year! Before I was scheduled I was planning to make guacamole and wings. We love to make appetizers for dinner, and now you've launched a craving!

Those brownies look incredible! I am already contemplating how I can go about making them vegan and still getting that amazing texture…I'm not sure it's possible, but it's worth a try!

The brownies look incredible! I'm taking advantage of everyone being at Super Bowl parties and going out to brunch on Sunday. I can go anywhere and they will all be empty. God bless people saving their calories.

So I made the New york cheesecake and it was delicious but it was slightly grainy and soft in the middle.Did I not cook it long enough or is it not meant to be a firm cheesecake?
