My New Lens!

On Sunday, I was sitting in front of the computer editing photos of Friday’s dinner when I blurted out loud… “Gosh I really need a new lens”.

Pat says “then go buy one”!

So I did :)! I just went out and bought a brand new lens!! In my normal life… this never ever happens.

It was so impulsive… it was so thrilling… and I was out the door in two seconds flat!

I purchased a Nikkor 35mm f/1.8 lens… I’ve already had done lots of research and this lens and it came with great reviews! I just knew I was gonna be a happy girl. No more zooming in and out and caking my lens with flour, butter or mysterious sticky substances. My first two posts will be up shortly… and what a difference! The amount of light this new lens lets in made cooking at my stove easy-peasy!

I’m in utter love with my 35mm and I’m not sure I’m ever going back!

Here are a few of my very first shots…

This is the very first picture I took. It’s of my husband’s lunch. Obviously. Looks like turkey sandwich with BetterMade hot chips. Yeaaah… like I said, this is his lunch not mine.

My youngest with her flawless skin… oh to be that young! See that birthmark under her eye… it’s my favorite! She had it since she was a baby. Siiiiigh.

My oldest… looking at me with those stunning blue eyes of hers!! Jealous! Oh! And I’ll take her perfect skin, wavy blond hair and her eye lashes as well!

Awwwww <3!

I have total lense envy! I'm jonesing for a new one. I think I've settled on the Nikon micro (which is really macro) 40mm f2.8 Did you happen to look at that one and if so, what did you think?

Beautiful family and congrats on your impulse purchase! Your photos were always beautiful but it always helps to let in a bit more light. Plus, new lenses often mean new creative impulses too.

I did the same a few weeks ago – went out and randomly bought a 100mm macro. Feels great, doesn't it?

I have this lens, too, and even after reading all the reviews, I was surprised how great it was. I LOVE it! After my camera was lost recently, the first thing I could think of was whether or not I'd be able to find that lens in stock again when I replaced it….congrats!

Sounds great! I am clueless when it comes to cameras, more so with lenses. I will bear this in mind when I'm ready to change my flour caked lenses.

I have that exact lens. Took me a while to stop trying to zoom after using my kit lens for over a year. LOL
